Lower School parents recently had the opportunity to learn from Dr. Elise Fallucco, Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist and ESJ Director of Health, Safety, and Well-Being Programming, during Health, Safety, and Well-Being parent education events held on both the Beaches and St. Mark’s Campuses. Dr. Fallucco explored common reasons behind challenging childhood behaviors such as defiance, tantrums, meltdowns, and emotional outbursts. She offered parents practical strategies for helping children manage emotions, guidance on approaches to avoid, and insight into when certain behaviors may warrant further evaluation. Each event also featured a faculty panel with Lower School leadership, who provided additional perspective and answered parent questions. “What to Expect in Young Children” was part of a larger “What to Expect” series also held for Middle and Upper School ESJ parents.
