Thespians Win Awards at Virtual Festival

Upper School Thespians participated in the Educational Theatre Association Virtual Festival in the weeks leading up to the holidays. Even though it was a recorded event, the virtual platform still allowed for immersion in performance, critical observation, and learning. Out of 39 submitted events, students received accolades including 15 superiors, 11 excellent, and 3 good ratings.

Phoebe Fletcher ’22 and Julia Polster ’22 won Top Honors for their monologues. Gabby Parker ’22 earned Top Honors for her solo musical. Caroline Million ’21 received a scholarship for her technical theatre portfolio. Many of these pieces were performed at the Variety Show in November.

Special thanks to all faculty and staff involved in the events: Jono Hustis, Emily Johnston, Langdon Zimmer, Dawn Adams, Colton Spurlock, Jordan Freeburn, Megan Elsila, Katie Black-Bowling ’95, Jennifer Windley, and Taylor Lee Horne ’00.
