A.J. Dial, Print Services Coordinator (Munnerlyn Campus)

This year’s recipient of the inaugural Susan Kwartler Award for Staff Excellence has made a lasting impact on the entire school community – all three campuses – through his dedication, kindness, spirit of collaboration, and servant leadership. A.J. Dial is the award’s first recipient.

Known for creating an environment where everyone feels valued, Mr. Dial consistently demonstrates care, professionalism, and a commitment to excellence. Colleagues describe him as someone who not only completes every task with precision, but also improves every project through organization, creativity, and attention to detail.

Whether managing long-range projects, responding calmly to last-minute requests, or offering encouragement during difficult moments, Mr. Dial leads with compassion and grace. Mr. Dial’s handwritten notes, thoughtful gestures, and genuine concern for coworkers and students alike reflect the heart he brings to his role each day.

One nominator shared that Mr. Dial shows others, through his own actions, how to carry themselves with integrity, care, and respect. Another colleague noted that Mr. Dial quietly reaches out when someone is struggling, often knowing exactly when support is needed most.

The Susan Kwartler Award for Staff Excellence Award recognizes members of the Episcopal staff who consistently go above and beyond in their service to the Episcopal community and who motivate and inspire others by their example.
