Episcopal’s Spanish language students left June 3 for Madrid, where they are staying with host families and students from Colegio Inglés in Zaragoza. ESJ students will attend school with students from Colegio Inglés, practicing their language skills. So far, ESJ students and chaperones have toured the historic city center, the Basilica La Señora del Pilar, La Seo Cathedral, and enjoyed a delicious authentic Aragonese feast at El Fuelle. They will continue to tour the local area, enjoy food and the culture with their host families for several days. The trip also includes a night in Barcelona, where they will visit Plaça Catalunya, La Rambla, Sant Pau Recinte Modernista, and Plaza Sagrada Familia, Casa Batlló, The Fundació Joan Miró, and the Montjuïc Castle. Back in Zaragoza, they will also visit Roman ruins, the Roman Theatre, and the Museo del Foro Romano de Zaragoza. ESJ and Colegio Inglés students will also watch Spain vs. Cabo Verde in a World Cup match with their host families at a pizza party before heading home June 17.
