Episcopal named Nick Walker, Class of 2010, as the 2026 Alumnus of the Year, recognizing his sustained commitment to the school community and his broader impact through service and leadership. Nick was recognized by The Rev. Adam Greene, Head of School, during the Reunion Weekend all-class party on April 24.
The Alumnus of the Year Award honors an Episcopal graduate who exemplifies outstanding service to the school—advancing its mission, success, and community well-being.
As a student, Nick was an active participant in school life, playing both lacrosse and golf. In the years since graduating, he has remained deeply engaged with Episcopal, contributing his time and expertise in a variety of ways. He has served on the Alumni Board, including leadership roles as Chair of the Young Alumni Committee and as a member of the Reunion Weekend Committee.
Nick has also supported current students and recent graduates through Episcopal’s Career Launcher program, hosting interns and helping them gain valuable professional experience. In addition, he contributed to an alumni focus group that helped shape the school’s Portrait of a Graduate, offering insight into the values and skills Episcopal aims to instill in its students.
His commitment to service extends into the wider community. Nick has supported several Jacksonville-area nonprofit organizations, including the JT Townsend Foundation, Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, Beads of Courage, and Junior Achievement. Through mentoring, fundraising, and volunteer efforts, he has demonstrated a consistent dedication to helping others.
Professionally, Walker has built a career as a financial advisor with Northwestern Mutual, where he has worked for more than a decade assisting individuals and families in achieving financial security. Colleagues and school leaders note that his work reflects a strong emphasis on trust, relationships, and service.
One of Walker’s most notable contributions to Episcopal has been the creation of the Eagles Fore Eagles Golf Tournament. Launched in 2019, the event was designed to reconnect young alumni with one another and with the school. What began as a single idea has grown into an annual tradition, drawing participation and support from across the alumni network.
Nick organized the tournament from the ground up, handling logistics, recruiting participants, and personally contributing to event details such as prizes and gift bags. The tournament has since become a key community-building event, reflecting the collaborative spirit of Episcopal alumni.
Nick’s initiative and ongoing involvement highlight the essence of leadership through service. His efforts have strengthened connections within the Episcopal community while also creating opportunities for future generations of alumni. Episcopal recognizes not only his accomplishments, but also his enduring commitment to fostering community and giving back.
