Marine Biology Visits Little Talbot Island

For the past 40 years Marine Biology students have participated in a field study of Little Talbot Island. While the trip has morphed over the years, what remains the same is the time spent in nature—using nature as our laboratory. Time in nature should not be seen as playtime, or something not valuable; it is critical to our students’ growth and well-being. Thursday was spent combing the beach for organisms studied throughout the year, collecting and classifying these organisms. “I loved being able to see what we have learned in marine biology this year by walking through nature at Little Talbot Island,” said Gray Riley ‘27.
