As the Christmas season approaches, students at both Lower Schools gathered last week for meaningful Lessons and Carols services that blended music, scripture, and reflection. Each campus brought its own style to this cherished tradition while sharing a common purpose: preparing hearts and minds for the celebration of Christ’s birth.
At the Beaches Campus, scripture readings guided the telling of the Christmas story, brought to life through dance and singing by students in first through fourth grades. Older students portrayed scenes from the Nativity, helping the story unfold in a way that was both engaging and reverent. The St. Mark’s Campus service featured fourth and fifth grade students as musicians and readers. Students shared scripture passages and performed a variety of Christmas selections using hand chimes, recorders, ukuleles, drums, and voice. The combination of instrumental and vocal performances showcased students’ musical growth while creating a reflective atmosphere for the school community. Together, the services offered students and families a meaningful opportunity to enter the Christmas season through worship, music, and storytelling.
