Position Overview: Extended Day Instructor at Episcopal School of Jacksonville, St. Mark’s Campus. Work hours are Monday through Friday from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., with the possibility of working extra hours on early dismissal days.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervising a group of children in an assigned age group, ages 1-2 years, Pre-K – 5th grade, on the playground, snack time, homework help, arrival and dismissal from extended day
- Help with record keeping through the use of our dismissal app
- Help straighten up the extended day area at the end of the day
- Be able to communicate effectively with students, colleagues, and parents
- Help to maintain a safe and positive learning environment
- At all times, demonstrate professional responsibility in all tasks assigned; display sound judgment in dress and general behavior.
Basic Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Employee must pass a background check, fingerprinting, and complete Safeguarding God’s Children class.
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
- Employee should have the ability to manage students.
- Excellent human relations and interpersonal skills; must be a self-starter and be well-organized; must be a team player.
- Be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Employee should dress professionally, yet appropriately for working with children.
- High School Graduate or GED
- Employee should be able to lift up to 50 lbs
- Employee should be able to squat to a child’s height and maintain eye contact.
