In the Footsteps of St. Paul Immersive Learning Experience

During the first few weeks of June, 29 students, 13 parents, and four chaperones set off to walk in the footsteps of Saint Paul. Tracing Saint Paul’s second missionary journey as recorded in Acts 16-18 as well as in several of Saint Paul’s letters, the group traveled extensively around the mainland of Greece. Students in this year’s experiential learning course, Greece 2026: In the Footsteps of Saint Paul, explored sites such as where the first Christian was baptized in Europe, communities where Paul and his companions first brought the news of Jesus, and where Paul preached to the people of Athens. Students were also immersed in Greek culture and history, mythology, the Byzantine Church, and the Ottoman Empire. Now back home, students will complete a paper or project in which they synthesize what they learned and experienced while in Greece. These annual theology experiential learning trips continue to challenge, educate, and transform participants.
