Exciting Weekend of Events for ESJ Choral Students

The weekend of September 25 was a busy one for Upper School and Middle School Fine Arts students. Choral students participated in Jacksonville SINGS! UNF Honor Choir Invitational held at the UNF Fine Arts Center. Focused on musical growth, community, and inspiration, Jacksonville SINGS! gives students a glimpse into collegiate-level music-making while connecting educators, students, and families with the vibrant choral community at UNF. This year, our Upper School students, alongside choral students from all over the region, worked with Dr. Plisco from Missouri State University while Middle School students worked with Emily Bohl of Goose Creek High School for the Performing Arts and performed in a joint concert on Saturday night.

“Jax Sings was so fun, and I’m really glad that I got to go! It was really cool to see what other choirs and conductors do differently than what we do at Episcopal and the things that all our choirs have in common,” shared Lanie Crum ’30. “Being surrounded by people so dedicated to music and people in college for music was awesome and made me realize what participating in the arts can lead to. It was fun to meet kids in choir from other schools. The final concert was actually jaw dropping. Overall it was so fun, and I hope I can do it again!” Dr. Carolyn Wells, Director of Choral Studies, is proud of the beautiful work that her students did and looks forward to next year’s event.
