Fifty-six ESJ Fine Arts seniors along with ESJ faculty members travelled to New York City this past week. The trip is an annual highlight of Episcopal’s Fine Arts program that helps seniors gain insight on future career opportunities and trajectories. It also serves to inspire their AP portfolios, and their senior year performances. Performing and Visual Arts students took in city sights including Chelsea Market and Times Square, and visited Rockefeller Center. Performing Arts students attended a Broadway clinic where they learned a piece taught by a member of the cast and enjoyed several plays, including “The Play that Goes Wrong,” “The Outsiders,” and “Hell’s Kitchen.” Visual Arts seniors were able to experience the internationally acclaimed Armory Show, as well as explore the Whitney Museum, The High Line, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The trip was an unforgettable experience for photography student Ava Salman ’26. “I had so much fun seeing the impressive and inspiring art in all the galleries,” she said. “This trip serves as both a reward and a launching pad for our senior artists,” said Director of Fine Arts Katie Black-Bowling ’95. “Our motivated and creative senior students have the opportunity to explore New York City, experience its incredible galleries and productions, and be inspired for what their future holds in college and beyond.”
