Dede Allen has been coaching at Episcopal for 15 years. In her time at ESJ, the team has won 12 district championships and was a finalist two times; won six regional semi-finals, four regional championships, and made it to the state championships as a team six times. In 2011, 2012, and 2019 ESJ was represented in the singles and doubles competition. She is a recipient of the John Ryan Award for Excellence in Coaching and was named the USPTA/FL Coach of the Year. Before joining the Eagles Coach Allen served as the coach of the Wake Forest Demon Deacons. While there, she finished second in the ACC and received the ACC Coach of the Year award. Coach Allen attended the University of Missouri where she played in the top spot in singles and doubles. After WFU, during her time as USTA Administrator of Junior Competition and Collegiate Tennis, she authored several USTA Sectional and National articles regarding college tennis recruiting. She has presented at Sectional and National events regarding the recruiting process. She is the author of the original” USTA Tennis Guide for Prospective College Players.” Coach Allen is also a volunteer for USTA/FL and is chair of the USTA/FL High School Task Force, working on a program to help attract, and train new high school coaches. She has been on the FHSAA Tennis Advisory Committee. She has just been appointed to the USPTA National HS Task Force.
