Swimming and Diving – Boys

The Episcopal Swimming program fields Boys and Girls Varsity teams, each open to students in sixth through twelfth grades. The Eagles practice and host home meets at the Elizabeth Simpson Walton ’71 Aquatic Center, whose 50-meter pool — named for Coach Randy Reese — was dedicated in 2017 and refinished in 2020.

Swimming is one of the most decorated programs in the ESJ Athletic Department. Coach Reese founded the Eagles’ program and, within four years, built a team that Swimming World magazine ranked number one in the nation, a legacy anchored by the 1976 national championship and numerous individual state titles. That tradition of excellence continues today: the boys’ team earned back-to-back state runner-up finishes in 2018 and 2019, and both the girls’ and boys’ teams finished as 1A Region 1 runners-up in 2025.

Grounded in discipline, work ethic, and a commitment to improvement, the program develops swimmers who compete at the highest levels of Florida high school swimming and consistently continue in the sport at the collegiate level.
