Football – JV

The Episcopal Football Program includes Middle School, Junior Varsity, and Varsity teams that compete on Pajcic-Hunt Field at Jangro Stadium. Our program is committed to developing young men of character while competing at a high level, qualifying for the state playoffs in six of the last seven seasons and helping numerous players continue their football careers at the collegiate level.

We believe in building disciplined, accountable, and resilient student-athletes who represent Episcopal with pride on Friday nights and in every aspect of life.

Marcus Wells ’90

Marcus Wells ’90 is a member of Episcopal’s Class of 1990 and is entering his sixth season as head coach. He has served on the ESJ football coaching staff for more than eleven years, including as associate head coach and defensive coordinator. Coach Wells has been an integral part of the football program’s winning culture during his tenure as well as the team’s last six playoff runs (2016, 2019-2023). Coach Wells began his coaching career 15 years ago at Booker T. Washington High School in Pensacola, FL. As an ESJ student-athlete, Coach Wells excelled in the classroom and on the gridiron. He led the team in touchdowns, rushing yards and yards from scrimmage both his junior and senior year while also setting several school records. He went on to play college football at Cornell University before graduating from the University of Florida.
