Emergency Communications Test – Tuesday, August 12, at 12:00 p.m.
As a part of security preparations for the new school year, Episcopal will conduct a test of the emergency communications system on Tuesday, August 12, at 12:00 p.m. You will receive a TEST text message on your mobile phone to ensure we can reach you in the event of an emergency.
If you do not receive a mobile text message on this day at this time, please visit My ESJ and select “Update My Profile” in the My Tools section. Under “Family Information” > “My Personal Contact Information,” please ensure a mobile phone number is listed.
Thank you for helping us ensure this safety protocol is in working order. Please contact your Division Head with any additional questions regarding safety and security.
Submit Required Health Forms via Magnus
All required forms must be submitted via the Magnus Health portal by August 1 in order to start the 2025-2026 school year. Please note: The forms must be submitted electronically through Magnus, and may not be sent via mail, fax, or email.
To log in to the Magnus Health portal:
- Go to www.esj.org/magnus
- Log in using your My ESJ credentials
- Click “Submit Forms via Magnus”
- Submit the remaining forms that are indicated

Update Grandparent Information
Grandparents’ Day 2025-2026 will be held the first week of November 2025. Specific dates and times will vary by campus. Details will be updated as the school year begins.
Complete updates by June 30 to ensure grandparents receive all communications including the Save the Date mailing that will provide them with additional details for each campus.
To update grandparent information in My ESJ:
Log in to the My ESJ Parent Portal
Click on “Update My Profile” located under My Tools
Click on “Grandparent Households” to update their information
Enter or update grandparent information in your Household Profile on the My ESJ Parent Portal prior to July 10.
Save the date information for Grandparents’ Day events on each campus will be mailed in early August to grandparents with mailing addresses on file.
The first senior Application Kickoff is tomorrow, August 2, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the Gooding Boardroom (library conference room). We look forward to kicking things off with the class of 2026!
All seniors must attend one of four sessions offered Aug 2, Aug 11, Aug 16, or Aug 23. Each session will take place in the library conference room from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Seniors who have not yet signed up for a session need to complete the Application Kickoff RSVP (available only through the student’s esj.org account) to reserve a seat. Students may change their date through the same link if their plans change.
About Application Kickoff
Episcopal College Counselors meet with all seniors to ensure a smooth start to the application season and senior year.
We’ll revisit essential tools, including the Common Application and Scoir, ensuring each senior understands the necessary policies, procedures, and requirements.
In addition, seniors will complete important authorization forms, update their college lists, learn about required procedures, and set up individual meetings with their college counselor.
Throughout the year, we (college counselors) guide and support seniors with every aspect of the admissions process – from balancing the college list to brainstorming essay responses to reviewing applications and essays prior to submission.
Application Kickoff is one of many programs Episcopal College Counseling hosts each year to ensure that students are well-informed and well-supported.
Senior Exam Information & Schedule:
Exam time and specific location for those testing will be available in the My ESJ Student portals a week prior to testing. All Seniors scheduled to take exams will do so in the Alumni Gym, except for students testing with accommodations, who will test in other classroom locations on the Munnerlyn Campus. Students must remain in the testing location for the full testing period. Seniors with grades of A- or above for the 2nd semester may be exempt from their exam at the discretion of the classroom teacher.

Exam locations will be posted in My ESJ Student portals and will be communicated by teachers in classes before exam week. 6th Grade Information:

Uniform Exchange (Free Event) and Lost and Found Items will be displayed on the Flag Plaza on Monday, May 19 and Wednesday, May 21! Uniforms will be available to take for Free. First come, first served.

This is a special time for our community as we prepare for Senior Honors Convocation, Baccalaureate, and Commencement. The next few months are going to pass quickly. Coupled with senior exams, AP exams, and many academic challenges comes the task of keeping track of all the events that you must attend. Attached please find a calendar listing all the events that seniors must attend in preparation for Commencement.
Parents are invited to attend several of these functions as noted in the calendar. Please note the proper dress for each occasion. Caps and gowns will be distributed on Thursday, May 15. At Commencement, please do not hold more than twelve seats for your family. Remember that seats are available on a first come first served basis and that a family member must be present to hold seats.
2025 Book Buyback begins Monday, May 12
- Seniors– Books can be returned starting May 12
- 7th – 11th grade– Book Buyback starts May 19
- 6th gradeinstructors facilitate Book Buyback during class time
Requirements for books eligible for Book Buyback are as follows:
- Textbooks will be used in the upcoming school year’s curriculum.
- Textbooks are cleared of papers, tabs, sticky notes, etc.
- Pages and binding are intact.
- Pencil marks erased and no pen/highlighter marks.
- Books with water damage are ineligible for return.
- Workbooks and novels are not eligible for Book Buyback.
Do you have some extra time to read over the summer? Come borrow a Parent Book Study book from the Parent Library located in the College Counseling Office. The Parent Library includes copies of past Parent Book Study books for parents to borrow and return when they are done reading them. Parent Book Study started meeting in the fall of 2016 and has read the following books:

The goal of Parent Book Study is to promote parent learning through reading and discussion. Not only do we meet in small groups to build relationships and learn from each other, but we also provide a book each year as a community read to increase knowledge and connection in the wider ESJ community. Even if parents aren’t able to attend our meetings, perhaps they are talking with other parents or their students about the information from Parent Book Study books. Enjoy reading and learning!
