Senior Yearbook LATE Deadline is Friday, August 22

All seniors are required to submit a baby picture and quote. These are due Friday, August 15. Any late items must be submitted by Friday, August 22. Those seniors/senior families wishing to purchase a senior yearbook ad are supposed to submit ALL materials Friday, August 15. ALL late materials must be submitted by Friday, August 22 and MUST include a $25 late fee. Details pertaining to all of the aforementioned can be found in the link shared here.

Time: 3:45 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Location: Deming Theater

Attire:

  • Girls: Wear all black form-fitting athletic wear, with your hair neatly pulled up and out of your face. Please bring Jazz Shoes and Half Soles if you have them, or barefoot.
  • Boys: Wear all black athletic clothing. Dance shoes or barefoot.

Please fill out the audition form before arriving at your audition.

Episcopal School of Jacksonville Rowing

The spring championship season of rowing is beginning and open to any and all, with no experience needed. Rowing builds strength, fitness,  teamwork, commitment, and responsibility.  Below, you will find more specific information for new and returning students. We welcome you to come out and give the sport a try!  

Upper School Rowing – Begins January 9

Returning and new Upper School students will be taught the fundamentals of this great sport and learn teamwork and sport specific fitness to build into the spring season.  

  • When- Monday through Friday- 3:45 to 6pm, beginning January 7 through April 29
  • Where- Episcopal School of Jacksonville, Walton Boathouse, 6757 Atlantic Blvd. Jacksonville 32211
  • Winter sport athletes will begin upon completion of their respective winter season.

Middle School – Begins Monday January 20

  • What- Rowing program for Middle School age students 6th grade and up.
  • When- Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday- 3:45 to 5:45pm, beginning January 20 through March 27
  • ESJ Knight Property Shuttle transports students to practice. 
  • Winter sport athletes will begin upon completion of their respective winter season.

The practice location is the Walton Boathouse at 6757 Atlantic Blvd on the Knight Sports Campus. Students will be transported via an Episcopal Shuttle after school, departing at 3:35 from in front of the Munnerlyn Center to the Boathouse.  

Student pick-up will be at the Boathouse via the entrance at the eastern end of the Tennis Courts at the address above. Students taking the shuttle will be returned to campus to catch the Beaches or Westside Shuttle home.

Practice Attire-  Water bottle, sneakers, athletic shorts and t-shirt.  (performance wicking T-shirt is best in the heat)

EL2 Physical & EL3 Paperwork must be completed and uploaded in My ESJ using the Magnus Portal.

 

Recent Graduates in the last 12 years, who have continued to row in college, have attended the following schools:

Boston University, Boston College, Bucknell, Cornell, Duke, Fordham, Jacksonville University, MIT, Rollins, United States Naval Academy, University of Alabama, University of Louisville, University of North Carolina, University of Tennessee, University of Texas, Stetson, Princeton University, and UCLA.

 

Important Announcement Regarding School Traffic Patterns

Parents and students are asked to use St. Elmo Drive ONLY to access school property. School traffic on Theo Street and Live Oak Lane is prohibited. Incoming cars should proceed down St. Elmo to the Middle School Drop-Off and exit St. Elmo. Afternoon pick-up should also proceed down St. Elmo and cue in the baseball parking lot. Cars leaving the baseball parking lot should turn right and exit down St. Elmo Drive and not Live Oak Lane.

All drivers are expected to follow the directions provided by the Security Team and abide by the parking and stop signs. 

Additionally, please use only the designated safe areas to drop off and pick up students. The Upper School Drop-Off circle is located in front of the Kirwan Flag Plaza at the end of Munnerlyn Drive. The Middle School Drop-Off circle is located at the end of St. Elmo Drive, just inside the gate.
