Bogey Creek Photography Show in Honor of Earth Day (April 22)
Lorem ipsum

The ESJ Fine Arts Department invites family and friends, faculty, and students to the Bogey Creek Photography Show, being held on Earth Day, April 22 from 5:30-7:00 PM at the Jacob F. Bryan III Library Gallery located on Episcopal’s Munnerlyn Campus.

The show will feature photographs taken last December during a student trip to the Bogey Creek Preserve in support of the North Florida Land Trust’s (NFLT) conservation efforts. The students documented the Bogey Creek landscape, plants, and animals, and learned about the conservation efforts currently in place to preserve this beautiful place. All prints will be for sale at the reception, with funds being split between the artists and NFLT. The prints will also be used for a calendar that will be sold to raise money for NFLT, and NFLT plans to use them on postcards to reach the community at large. This was a special opportunity to share ESJ’s photography students’ talents with the community and help NFLT grow as an organization.

Melodic Reflections: Spring Instrumental Music Concert (May 1)
Lorem ipsum

The ESJ Fine Arts Department is proud to present Melodic Reflections, brought to you by the ESJ Instrumental Music Ensembles. The concert takes place at 7:00 PM on Thursday, May 1, in the Deming Theatre.

Enjoy selections such as “Choose Joy” by Randall Standridge, which combines engaging rhythms, energetic melodies, bombastic percussion, and hints of Beethoven’s Ode to Joy to create a message of positivity for performers and audiences alike. Another selection “Proud of Me” is a direct reflection of the incredible art our students are creating and how proud we as directors are of them. This multicultural-flavored work with a disco flair is based on the chord progression to Over the Rainbow to symbolize that every young person can “fly.” Its mood is uplifting and triumphant, offering a rhythmic groove to motivate players and listeners alike to move and dance. We will close the show with a combined piece that was performed on our very stage 20 years ago!

Come out to the show to hear it live! General admission tickets are now available for $20 at https://esj.booktix.net/. ESJ students are free when they show their student ID upon entrance.

Attached please find a calendar listing all the events that seniors must attend in preparation for Commencement.

Parents are invited to attend several of these functions as noted in the calendar. Please note the proper dress for each occasion. Caps and gowns will be distributed on Thursday, May 15. 8th Grade Trip to Islands of Adventure (May 2)
Lorem ipsum

We have an exciting trip planned for our eighth grade students on Friday, May 2. The eighth grade students and Episcopal chaperones will travel to Islands of Adventure in Orlando.  This trip is an opportunity to celebrate the culmination of their Middle School experience.

Students should arrive at 6:15 a.m. at the Upper School drop-off to board the buses. Buses will depart at 6:30 a.m. with an estimated return time of 6:30 p.m. The school will send a text to parents when the bus departs Islands of Adventure and again when the buses are 30 minutes from campus.

Students will need money for lunch, snacks, and souvenirs. Student tickets are Islands of Adventure park access only and do not include Universal Express Pass. Students who have a Universal Annual Pass and/or an Annual Universal Express Pass may use it, but neither are required.

There will be a class meeting with the students the week before the trip to discuss the expectations and answer questions. Students must wear Episcopal spirit dress. If you have any questions, please email Mrs. Noir-Jones at noir-jonesm@esj.org.

We are excited to share this memorable and fun experience with our eighth graders!
