College Counseling: Fall Semester Highlights

Building on August programming for seniors, College Counseling has continued to offer a range of programs to support students at every stage of the college planning process. In September the office hosted What Matters Most for juniors, guiding students through an interactive activity on what colleges value most in applications. In October, counselors presented College Knowledge: Athletic Recruitment for prospective student-athletes and their families, followed by an Application Clinic where seniors received hands-on support with essays, the Common App, resumes, and other application components. College Counseling also connected with 9th-10th grade parents to share upcoming programming and key resources, and sophomores were introduced to two SCOIR self-reflection assessments that support academic planning and early college exploration. Most recently,  the office celebrated seniors at Senior Celebration Day as they completed the bulk of their applications. “We look forward to continuing to support students and families through additional programming throughout the semester,” said Julie Carter, Director of College Counseling.
