On Friday, January 9, kindergarten students on the St. Mark’s Campus joined first through fifth grade students for Chapel, marking an important step in their Christian formation journey with the support of third grade Chapel buddies. While kindergarten students continue to participate in Pre-Primary Chapel, these Friday services help prepare them for the full Chapel experience they will participate in next year.
Third grade students play an active role by escorting their kindergarten partners to Chapel, sitting with them during the service, assisting with Chapel booklets, and helping them follow the Order of Worship and learn new songs. They also model and reinforce expectations for respectful Chapel behavior.
A cherished St. Mark’s tradition, the Chapel Buddy program provides third graders with their first formal opportunity to serve as mentors and leaders on campus, fostering responsibility, compassion, and meaningful connections across grade levels.
