Camp Create Kicks Off with “Ooey Gooey Fun!”

The first two weeks of Camp Create brought hands-on learning and creativity for over 100 rising ELP 2 through kindergarten students. The theme, Ooey Gooey Fun!, guided a variety of sensory-based activities designed to spark curiosity and engagement. Campers explored messy materials through projects such as painting with spaghetti, making slime and oobleck, and creating chalk paint. These activities encouraged exploration, creativity, and fine motor development in a playful setting. Shannon Johnson, Science Instructor from the Beaches Campus, led science experiments with campers, and a representative from Sticky Fingers Cooking Class introduced students to simple, healthy, and yummy recipes! Campers also enjoyed water play, daily storytime, Soccer Shots, and time in the Creation Station, a STEM-focused room where students explored building, designing, and problem-solving. In the weeks ahead, campers will take part in new hands-on activities tied to the upcoming themes: Nature Explorers, Music Makers, and Animal Planet.
