AP Marine Biology Partners with Beaches Pre-K 4 for Learning Opportunities

Munnerlyn Campus AP Marine Biology students recently partnered with the Beaches Campus Pre-K 4 classes to help launch a marine animals unit in a memorable and engaging way. Honors Marine Biology students spent the morning at the Beaches Campus leading ocean-themed activities alongside Ms. Harding and Ms. Stratton’s Pre-K students. The visit was a meaningful learning experience for both groups. The younger students were full of excitement and curiosity, while Upper School school students embraced the opportunity to share their knowledge and serve as mentors. Pre-K students rotated through six interactive, hands-on centers. They created colorful fish prints, explored a shark investigation station featuring items such as shark teeth and even shark eyeballs, and experimented at a sink-or-float center. At the marine debris station, they learned about the importance of protecting ocean ecosystems. Additional centers included a shell exploration area and an ocean animal station, where students examined fascinating specimens like whale baleen, sponges, and seahorses.
