904 Robo Eagles Visit St. Mark’s Campus for Hands-On Robotics Presentation

Episcopal’s Upper School robotics team, the 904 Robo Eagles, visited with third – fifth grade students on the St. Mark’s Campus on Tuesday. Led by Robotics Instructor Scott Givonetti and student team members, the visit included live demonstrations of robots and discussion of their applications in real-world settings, such as operating in hazardous environments or utilizing biomimicry to mimic bird flight. The hands-on portion of the visit provided students with the opportunity to design and test bristlebots—small, motor-powered robots that move through vibration, offering a practical application of engineering and design thinking. Students also learned about the basic structure and rules of robotics competitions. Episcopal offers two competition teams, in addition to classes. The visit reinforced classroom learning and gave students a chance to see how robotics continues to evolve through Munnerlyn Campus opportunities.
