The 48th annual W.W. Gay Ortega River Run welcomed nearly 1,900 participants, a 15% increase from the previous year. Runners and walkers of all ages completed the scenic course, highlighting the continued support in this long-standing community event and grand-prix race. The accompanying street fair drew more crowds and featured 30 local businesses offering giveaways, face painting, balloon art, live music, MyGym, the GameTruck and other activities. Episcopal is grateful to W.W. Gay Mechanical Contractor, the event’s title sponsor, for its ongoing support, gold-level sponsors Beaver Chevrolet, Clear Channel Outdoor, Duval Ford, JAX Implants & Dentures, St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, and WJXT Channel 4, and all sponsors and vendors, whose contributions helped make the event possible. The Ortega River Run remains an important part of the Northeast Florida running calendar, bringing together runners and the local community each year.
