School Choice Process
The School Choice Scholarship is funded by the State of Florida and is administered by a Scholarship Funding Organization (SFO) such as Step Up for Students or AAA Scholarship. However, Episcopal School of Jacksonville must register the student to receive the funds.
The following steps must be completed:
Apply for or Renew your Scholarship – Scholarships must be renewed each year
- Visit StepUpForStudents.org to apply for a School Choice Scholarship.
- Login to your EMA portal to renew your scholarship.
Registration with School and Parent Approval
- Parent/Guardian provides a screenshot of the Award ID to financialaid@esj.org.
- School submits the student’s enrollment form to Step Up for Students.
- Parent/Guardian approves the registration within the EMA portal.
Quarterly Distributions
Quarterly Distribution Approvals
- Each quarter, you will receive an email from Step Up for Students notifying you to access the EMA portal and approve that quarter’s distribution. Approval must be completed promptly to receive funding for the quarter.
If you are expecting to receive a School Choice Scholarship and a credit does not appear on your tuition statement, contact financialaid@esj.org or Kim Delong at 904-396-5751 ext. 1140.
