WINGED LION SOCIETY

Established in 1999, the Winged Lion Society honors and celebrates the philanthropy of those individuals whose Lion’s Pride Fund (Annual Fund) gifts to the St. Mark’s Campus total $1,500 or more each year. The Foerster Family - Featured Grandparents

Dink Foerster has been a member of the Episcopal community for the past 70 years. He was instrumental in helping to acquire the property where both Episcopal School of Jacksonville and Episcopal School of Jacksonville, St. Mark's Campus reside today. He was a founder of Episcopal School of Jacksonville and was President of the Jacksonville Bar Association.

Margaret was one of the St. Mark's Episcopal Day School's founding faculty members. Her previous teaching career included teaching at Holiday Hill Elementary School and Ortega School. She also produced and hosted an instructional television program on the history of Jacksonville, "Your Town and Mine." She has been a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church for over 50 years.  

Margaret and Dink are extremely proud of their children and grandchildren: David Foerster, Jr., Margaret Foerster Bratton '75, Michael Clements Foerster '80, Amy Foerster Lyerly '84, John McIlwaine Lyerly '83, Caroline Foerster Hammond '94, John McIlwaine Lyerly, Jr. '18, Caroline Vason Lyerly '20, Emily Grace Hammond '25, and Anna Wendel Hammond '29.

Richards Family - Featured First Time Donors

Marieka and Dervent Richards enrolled their daughter, Jayda '26, in fifth grade at St. Mark's Episcopal Day School in 2018. During the past two years, the family has volunteered and generously supported the school in so many ways. Marieka was the Chair of the 2019-2020 Fall Festival and is currently serving on the A Vision for Art Committee. Dervent prepared and served spaghetti at the 2020 Ascension St. Vincent’s Ortega River Run Spaghetti Dinner and helped with the Fall Festival. Jayda ‘26 is currently in the seventh grade on the Munnerlyn Campus and is cheering and planning to play basketball. Her brother, Matthew, is an honor student at Paxon School for Advanced Studies where he plays football. In addition, he spends time volunteering with young men who are on the autism spectrum to include them in athletic programs. Marieka is a Real Estate Agent with The Neighborhood Assistance Corporation of America (NACA), a non-profit community advocacy and homeownership organization. Dervent is a Regional Facility Manager for City Facilities Management. He also coaches Riverside Presbyterian Church basketball and has been a soccer coach for the past ten seasons with the Westside Soccer Club.
