Description: In Technology 7, students learn how technology can assist them throughout their studies while acquiring
lifelong skills to facilitate success in today’s technology-driven society. This course provides students with valuable lessons in digital citizenship, effective online collaboration, and communication. Students will develop new skills or enhance their existing knowledge in Google Docs, Slides, Sheets, and Forms. Basic coding conventions will also be introduced through block coding applications. All students will be encouraged to use creative and innovative approaches to enhance their problem solving and presentation skills.

Description: In this course, students learn the basic skills needed for building robots. Robotics is introduced as an
intersection of engineering, computer programming/coding, and the application of real-world scenarios. Throughout the course, students collaborate with peers in teams to learn the engineering process, basic programming, and robot construction.

Description: In this interdisciplinary course, students engage in real-world, hands-on, collaborative learning. STEAM 7
incorporates Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics into one curriculum. Throughout the course, students work both individually and collaboratively on projects that foster critical thinking and problem solving, creativity, communication, and collaboration.
Level 8th grade
Length: Nine weeks
Description: Computer 8 transitions from Google Workspace to Microsoft Office Suite. Students continue to develop collaboration and presentation skills along with advanced spreadsheet design. Coding skills such as text coding and applied programming are introduced, while digital citizenship continues as a focus. Knowledge of computer hardware, components, and peripherals are also introduced. All students will be encouraged to use creative and innovative approaches to enhance their problem solving and presentation skills.

Length: Nine weeks
Description: Technology 8 uses existing and emerging technologies to develop creativity and innovative approaches to problem-solving for students transitioning to Upper School and beyond. Students test, modify, and evaluate approaches to challenges to find unique solutions. Computational thinking is linked to the design process through the application of a wide variety of tools from 3D modeling to applied programming.
