The ESJ Fine Arts Department is proud to present Shrek the Musical. The performances are at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 24, and Friday, April 25, and at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 26, in the Deming Theatre (located in the Munnerlyn Center for Worship and Fine Arts on the Munnerlyn Campus).
Based on the Oscar-winning DreamWorks Animation film, Shrek The Musical is a Tony Award-winning fairy tale adventure of a green ogre and a wise-cracking donkey who embark on a journey to save the land from an evil lord and rescue a lovely princess from a terrible fate. But why does the princess keep running away?
As part of our celebration of the 20th anniversary of the Munnerlyn Center for Worship and Fine Arts, Shrek the Musical will also feature an appearance by alumni from Peter Pan, the first production ever in the Deming Theatre.
General admission tickets are now available for $20 at esj.booktix.com. ESJ students are free. Shrek the Musical is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI).
Come see us Thursday, April 3, and Friday April 4, in our temporary location in the Buck Center Lobby (located on the Munnerlyn Campus) and shop for 25% – 50% off select merchandise (including Dennis/Mills uniforms) with additional items marked down lower!

Thank you to all who have made a gift to The 2024-2025 Episcopal Fund parent campaign.
With only two weeks left of the campaign, we encourage you to make your gift today. Please reach out to Susan Kwartler (kwartlers@esj.org), or Lisa Allen (allenl@esj.org) should you have any questions about the importance of the campaign.
The Episcopal Fund is important because:
- It supports current year operating needs
- It directly impacts all students and teachers in the year the gift is made
- It is the philanthropic foundation of the school
- It gives Episcopal the ability to respond quickly to opportunities and needs that arise each year
Episcopal was built on the generosity of past donors. Let’s do our part so the school can continue to provide students with the best education possible.
Please consider making a gift today to The Episcopal Fund.

Episcopal is aware of recent morning traffic implications from the traffic lights on Atlantic Boulevard. The school has been in touch with the City of Jacksonville and wanted to provide an update on the information we have at this point:
- Traffic lights are controlled by the City, not the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office (JSO).
- JSO and ESJ are not currently permitted to manually control the lights as they had before.
- The City has a third party company helping with a traffic study to help inform adjustments to timing of these lights.
- We do not have a confirmed timeline for completion of this study, however the school is following up persistently to ensure this is done and improvements are made as soon as possible.
We appreciate the community’s patience as we await updates and improvements from the City. Rest assured that the school is doing all it can to expedite a solution. In the meantime, we encourage drivers to allow extra time in the morning until this is resolved.
