Key Information & New Steps for Scholarship Applicants
Here is some helpful information to be aware of, including a new step that families will need to complete this year:- Application checklist: For a list of documents that may be needed when a family applies, please click here.
- Priority deadline: To ensure renewing students receive priority for the Private School Scholarship and the Unique Abilities Scholarship, families must submit their application by Wednesday, April 30. After this date, all students will be processed as “new students” due to legislative changes for this year.
- New step for families: Once a student is found eligible, the family will be asked to “Accept” or “Decline” the scholarship. Once accepted, the student’s status will be updated to “Awarded.” Please monitor your email for future updates about enrollment.
- Step Up for Students is here to help: In addition to their regular hours, their team will be available to assist families this weekend from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. ET.
New This Week
PSAT testing for grades 8-11 will be administered on Wednesday, October 16. Standard testing will be 8:05 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Students should arrive at their designated testing location, which will be shared by Advisors no later than 8:00 a.m. Students approved for testing with accommodations by College Board will have communication directly from Student Services.
College Board digitized the PSAT 8/9, PSAT 10, and PSAT/NMSQT, and ESJ will administer tests on campus on October 16. Students completed a device survey to inform the Technology Department of the device they use at school. If their device will not support the digital administration of the PSAT, the Technology Department has planned to provide a school device for testing. If a student is absent on test day, a makeup of the PSAT will not be offered.
All score reporting is done by College Board through their website. If your student has not yet created a College Board account, we suggest using their ESJ email account login credentials. Since the school doesn’t have access to College Board accounts, it is important for students and families to keep a record of this information.

Episcopal Community,
My name is Julia Barrow. I am a senior as well as the President of the Fashion Club.
This year, we have been selected as the official Partner Club and we are currently hosting our first school-wide event. From September 30 to October 11, the Fashion Club will be collecting gently loved clothing, shoes, and accessories in our campus-wide drive. We want to emphasize that this drive includes all of the Episcopal community and not just the students.
With it being the start of October, this is the perfect time to go through your closets before the upcoming holiday season. We have bins to collect drive items located at the Middle School drop-off, Upper School drop-off, and in front of the Munnerlyn Center. All of the items from the campus-wide drive will be collected, quality-checked, and prepared for an upcoming ESJ Thrift event that the Fashion Club will also be hosting. The dates and location are currently to be determined but the ESJ Thrift will take place over two days in November. At the thrift, all of the Episcopal community is invited to come shop. We would love to get as much participation from our community as we can!
The importance of these events is to promote sustainable fashion in our community. Too often we throw away clothing when it could be given a second life. By hosting the ESJ Thrift, the donated clothing, shoes, and accessories can be recycled for a new purpose in a fun way. Our mission as the Fashion Club is to educate the Episcopal community about sustainable and inclusive fashion while promoting self-expression. Please reach out to me if you have any questions about the drive. My email is [email protected]. Thank you all so much and happy October!
Best,
Julia Barrow
Reminders
Parent/Teacher Conferences on Munnerlyn Campus previously scheduled on Friday, October 11, have been canceled in response to Hurricane Milton. We will be looking at the possibility of rescheduling conferences and will provide an update after the storm. We appreciate your patience and understanding, and hope that you and your families remain safe over the coming days.
Fine Arts Preferred Seating (FAPS) tickets are now available for purchase!
FAPS is designed to give Fine Arts supporters preferred seating at ticketed Munnerlyn Campus performances, such as the Upper and Middle School plays and musicals, and the choral, band, and dance concerts.
Purchasing FAPS tickets also allows for patrons to make a restricted gift to the Fine Arts Department. Money raised from the restricted gifts have been used in the past for projects such as improved sound in the theatres, purchase of additional classroom instruments, costumes for productions and exposure to professional performers and artists.
To purchase FAPS tickets, go to esj.org/faps.
For more information about FAPS tickets, please contact Melissa Salek at [email protected].
