Knight Sports Campus Adds Cross Country Race Thanks to Lead the Way Campaign

The Knight Sports Campus played host to the Episcopal Middle School 3K on Friday, September 7. The inaugural meet held on the newly minted course welcomed 200 athletes from 10 schools for the occasion. The Knight Sports Campus was the perfect location for this race thanks to the Lead the Way Campaign.

In addition to the newly cleared cross country trail, the campaign added convenient parking, locker rooms, bathrooms, and concessions to the 32-acre property. The cross country trail is the newest addition to the Knight Sports Campus, which is also home to the Walton Boathouse, Clements Tennis Center, and Schmidt and Crandall-Giles Fields.

The Eagles christened the first race in style with a first place finish in the girls’ race and a second place finish for the boys.

“The race could not have happened without the leadership and organization of ESJ’s coaching staff, especially Chad Senesac ’98 who helped design the course,” said Andy Kidd ’99, Director of Athletics. “Plans are already underway for next year’s race where we anticipate even more participants due to the success of this year’s race.”
