NAHS Fall Coffee House on Friday, September 28!
Last week National Art Honor Society (NAHS) Officers Emily Coll, Lillie Tritt, and Julia Reese visited Indigo Art Therapy in Avondale to begin forming a relationship that will lead to many collaborations throughout the school year.
On Friday. September 28, NAHS is hosting its annual fall Coffee House event from 5 – 7 p.m. on the Acosta House Lawn. Coffee, tea, water, and other beverages will be served along with light snacks. Join us and enjoy performances ranging from poetry to music, monologues and more.
During this event we will be asking for a suggested donation for attending of $5. NAHS is committed to assisting Indigo by helping raise money to offset the cost of therapy for teenagers that are unable to cover the cost, and the entirety of these donations will be given to Indigo for this purpose. The state of Florida prevents insurance companies from covering art therapy.
In addition, Kelly and Sarah, the founders and therapists at Indigo, will host a workshop with our NAHS members so that they may be able to facilitate similar workshops for our ESJ community in the future. This is just the beginning of what NAHS wants to accomplish with Indigo. Please come out to the Coffee House event on September 28 and thank these students for what they are trying to do to make our world just a little better and a little less anxious.
