Ryan Riggs Attends Southern Consortium Meeting

The College Counseling Office continues to travel and work on students’ behalf over the summer. Director of College Counseling Ryan Riggs attended the Southern Consortium meeting from June 13-15. The Southern Consortium is a small group of private colleges and universities in the Southeast that meets annually to discuss deeper concerns about college admissions in the US. Each of the 18 colleges and universities sends the Director of Admissions to the meeting. Additionally, the group invites around 10 high school college counselors from around the country each year to add to the exchange of ideas. Mr. Riggs was honored to be asked to attend, and found the conversations, breakout sessions, and small group discussion invaluable.

“I learned so much from both the Directors of Admissions and the other college counselors at this meeting. We send students to many of these schools every year, so deepening our relationship with them is important,” he said.

Riggs will also visit four different schools in Tennessee and meet with their admissions representatives in July.
