Zachariah Invitational

Track & Field Hosts Zachariah Invitational

Track & Field will host its annual invitational meet tomorrow. This annual track meet was recently named in honor of Prince and Sibil Zachariah, parents of three Episcopal alumni track athletes. The Zachariah children, Josh ’99, Jenny ’96, and Jason ’94, named the meet in their parents’ honor as a way to say thank you for providing them an Episcopal education.

“It is awesome to see our former Eagle athletes support our current generation of athletes through gifts like the Zachariahs. The Zachariah name is well known in the cross country and track circles of Northeast Florida. Naming our home invitational in their parent’s honor is a fitting tribute. We are grateful to Josh, Jenny, and Jason for their support of the Lead the Way campaign, which provided the funds necessary to resurface the Langford Track,” said Andy Kidd ’99, Director of Athletics.

All three alumni still hold records in the Episcopal track and field books. Additionally, the tunnel that connects the Elizabeth S. Walton ’71 Aquatic Center and Jangro Stadium will now be referred to as the “Zachariah Tunnel.”

The Prince and Sibil Zachariah Invitational begins Thursday, March 22, at 4:30 p.m.
