Parent Education Seminar with Dr. Cat Baker ’02
The Beaches Campus recently hosted Dr. Cat Baker â02 from the Florida Childrenâs Institute for a parent education seminar titled âUnderstanding Big Emotions & Managing Outburstsâ last Friday. The workshop provided families with insights into evidence-based strategies to enhance their childâs emotional intelligence, tailored to realistic developmental milestones for their age. Participants also gained foundational skills to help empower their children in effectively managing emotions and preventing them from becoming overwhelming

Dr. Cat Baker â02 has spent the better part of two decades working with parents and children through Parent Coaching and Applied Behavior Analysis services. She is passionate about supporting children and families coping with a wide range of behavior issues and learning disabilities, regardless of diagnosis. In spite of having ADHD, Dyslexia, and Anxiety, Dr. Baker earned a Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of Florida, an M.S. in Applied Behavior Analysis & Developmental Disabilities from Auburn University, a B.S. in Psychology from the University of North Florida, and a B.S. in Health & Exercise Science from Wake Forest University. She loves helping children and families who âdonât fit in the boxâ or who have âbrains that work differentlyâ reach their potential because of her personal experience!
