Beaches Campus Adds New Green Space for 2022-2023 School Year

Beaches Campus is adding a new, fenced green space for students to enjoy in a few short months. Construction is now underway to transform this space for the 2022-2023 school year. “Natural environments including green spaces provide children with unique benefits such as inciting discovery, creativity, mastery and control, strengthening sense of self and inspiring wonder,” said Jennifer Ketchum, Head of Lower School, Beaches Campus. “We are excited to have this opportunity to give this space back to our students. Once a teacher’s parking lot, it will now become a place for students to learn and grow.”

Other Beaches Campus construction projects completed so far this summer include the re-roofing of McCormick and Hope Hall. The demolition of the lot east of the school (formerly known as the Annex) will become a parking lot. Additional Beaches Campus Summer projects include the renovation of the movement room, which will be transformed into the new Innovation Space. The construction and move of the furniture, fixtures, and equipment are expected to be completed before the beginning of the 2022-2023 school year.
