Francine Andia Walker ’77 Named Alumna of the Year

The Alumnus of the Year Award is given during Reunion Weekend to an alumnus who has consistently provided exemplary service to Episcopal by enhancing the mission, success, stature, and well-being of the school.

This year’s winner, Francine Andia Walker, Class of 1977, has been a steadfast and devoted volunteer despite living a few hours away. She travels to Jacksonville for alumni events and is always quick to ask how she can help. She continually raises her hand to volunteer as a Reunion Weekend committee member and is an Alumni Class Representative for her class. Because of her faithful support her class consistently has the highest participation at every reunion. She is a longtime supporter of Episcopal and is a member of the 1966 Society of donors.

In true Episcopal spirit, she is supportive of her classmates and Episcopal friends, sharing their news with the school, providing great stories about them, ensuring they all keep in touch with one another, even via Zoom during the COVID pandemic.

As Francine says, “Love is the gift all of my classmates keep giving. And Episcopal is the tie that binds us.”

Alumni Board President William Milne ’00 presented Francine with the award on Friday, April 29, at the annual all class reunion party at the Walton Boathouse.
