
Track & Field Heads to Regional Meet
Last Friday the boys’ and girls’ track teams competed in the district tournament and advanced numerous athletes to the regional meet.
Finishing second overall, the girls’ team advanced the following to regionals: Gabi Carter ’19 – first in high jump; Caroline Johnston ’19 – first in triple jump and first in long jump; Reagan Rawls ’21 – third in long jump and third in 100m; Ana Ion ’19 – third in triple jump, fourth in 300m hurdles, and second in shot put; Jade Hardwick ’22 – first in the 100m and second in the 200m; Parklyn Gardner ’22 – third in the 400m; Harper McEvoy ’21 – fourth in the 400m; Brooke Johnston ’22 – fourth in the 300m hurdles; Tanner Thompson ’20 – third in the 800m; Nia Atcherson ’24 – fourth in the 800m.
The following girls’ teams also head to regionals: the 4×800 team – first place (Atcherson, Mackenzie Glenn ’22, Hannah Kowkabany ’24, Maddie Morris ’22); the 4×100 team – second place (Johnston, Hardwick, Rawls, and Carter); and the 4×400 team – second place (Hardwick, McEvoy, Gardner, and Johnston).
The boys’ team will send the following to regionals: Justin McKee ’19 – first place in the 100m and 200m; Don Kohla ’22 – third place in pole vault; the 4×400 – fourth place team (McKee, Luke Brunell ’20, Michael Officer 22, and CJ Tremble ’21).
The regional meet will be held next Saturday at Bishop Snyder High School.
