Every fall, the freshmen class participates in the 9th Grade Orientation Adventure (9GOA) in Unicoi State Park, Helen, Georgia. The trip provides opportunities for social, emotional, and spiritual growth, as well as builds class unity.

Eleventh and twelfth graders serve as counselors, and faculty and staff chaperone. Counselors encourage the development of new friendships in order to develop a sense of mutual trust, respect, and appreciation among the group. Freshmen participate in white water rafting, hiking, camping, learn about wildlife, and prepare their own meals.

Episcopal parents whose children are attending the trip can access a forms packet with important information including an itinerary, packing list, emergency phone numbers, and required forms, by logging in to the My ESJ Parent Portal
