Spring Break Brings Major Progress on Beaches Campus Classroom Expansion

Spring Break proved to be a pivotal time for the Beaches Campus Classroom Expansion project. One of the most exciting updates from last week is the completion of the second floor walls, decking, and the installation of the angled steel framework. These elements are essential in providing structural integrity and laying the foundation for the upper level of the building. With these steps now finished, the team can move forward with confidence as the project enters its next phase.

The roof construction is also moving ahead at full speed. The team has completed the roof trusses, fascia, and drip edge installations, which are all key components in the roofing system. These structural pieces will provide support for the upcoming roof decking.

In addition to the visible progress on the building itself, work has also begun on critical infrastructure projects. The underground boring for power lines and the installation of the upgraded transformer have kicked off. This work is crucial for ensuring the expanded building will have the necessary energy supply to support modern classrooms and technology.

This week, the focus also included the interior of the building, with teams beginning the framing work for the downstairs areas. Framing is the first step in creating the building’s internal structure and will pave the way for the installation of walls, doors, and windows in the coming weeks.

With these significant milestones achieved, the Beaches Campus Classroom Expansion project continues to move forward smoothly. As the team finishes the dry-in of the roof with peel-and-stick materials and proceeds with interior work, it’s clear that the campus will soon have the much needed new space to support a growing community of students and faculty.
