Fall Rowing Team Information – New and Returning Students

The fall rowing program is designed to lay the foundation of fitness and technique, which is important in the continued development of the team and spring racing. The team has produced 27 Scholastic State titles over the last 10 years and fall participation is a big part of that success. Below, you will find more specific information for new and returning students. We welcome all new students to come out and give the sport a try, no experience necessary!

Middle School- Learn to Row Opportunity & Returners

New students will be taught the fundamentals of this great sport and learn teamwork and general fitness skills. This is an introductory learn to row fall club program through Episcopal School of Jacksonville.

  • What- Learn to Row program for Middle School age students 6th grade and up – Returning rowers sculling sessions
  • When- Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays- 3:45 to 5:45pm, beginning August 26 through October 15 (Fall Break)
  • Where- Episcopal School of Jacksonville, Walton Boathouse, 6757 Atlantic Blvd. Jacksonville 32211
  • Cost- First week try for FREE – Then $250 for the semester billed to student account or pay by check

Upper School- returning rowers and new students

Returning and new Upper School students will be taught the fundamentals of this great sport and learn teamwork and sport specific fitness to build into the spring season.  All rowers will spend some time sculling and potentially getting in a single at some point. We will compete at one or two regattas to be named later.

  • When- Monday through Friday- 3:45 to 5:45pm, beginning August 26th through November 8th

  • Cost- $375 for the semester billed to the student account or pay by check

The practice location is the Walton Boathouse located at 6757 Atlantic Blvd. at the Knight Sports Campus. Students will be transported via an Episcopal shuttle after school, departing at 3:35 from in front of the Munnerlyn Center to the boathouse. Student pick up is at the Boathouse using the entrance at the eastern end of the Clements Tennis Center at the address above. The Beaches and West Side shuttles pick up rowers at the Boathouse for transportation home.
