Wellness Policy Reminder

Dear Episcopal Community,

As we are entering the peak of flu season, we kindly remind you to take into account the following guidelines before sending your child to school. These guidelines will help prevent the spread of infection among students and ensure that your child can fully participate in their learning.

Symptoms of the flu include a fever (100°F or higher), cough, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, body aches and fatigue. In some cases, vomiting or diarrhea may also occur.

Please keep your child at home if:

  • Their temperature is 100°F or higher. They should be fever-free for at least 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medication before returning to school.
  • They have a heavy, moist, productive cough or chest congestion.
  • They have been diagnosed with a strep infection. In this case, they will need to be on an antibiotic for at least 24 hours, fever-free and feeling well before returning to school.

Your collaboration is essential in maintaining a healthy and safe learning environment for all students. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Thank you,
