Noted Pediatric Neurophysiologist Shares Insights With Parents
Earlier today, Dr. Allison Cato, Ph.D., ABPP, presented “Mindful Beginnings – Understanding and Supporting Young Minds” to St. Mark’s Campus ELP – kindergarten parents. Dr. Cato shared resources for early childhood development and tips for supporting the developing child in today’s world. She also stressed the importance of early intervention and noted guidelines for when it might be time to seek evaluation for a child.
“It was very insightful,” said one parent in attendance. “I felt like I got just enough of an overview to know what to look out for and how I can get help if I need it.”
Following the presentation, Dr. Cato answered questions and shared resources for additional tips related to commonly asked questions she receives as a clinician.
“Dr. Cato touched on the importance of a school-parent partnership to develop positive outcomes for children,” said Carley Baggs, Director of Pre-Primary. “At ESJ, we could not agree more! We find that a positive and collaborative partnership between parents, teachers, and learning specialists is vital to setting the stage for success for Pre-Primary students and beyond.”
