Rise and Run: St. Mark’s Campus Launches Morning Mile Running Club

In preparation for the W.W. Gay Ortega River Run on February 10, nearly 25 kindergarten – fifth grade students started Morning Mile Running Club this week on the ESJ, St. Mark’s Campus. Led by Episcopal parent Jessica Ryals, this free club meets twice a week before school. “Beyond physical fitness, Morning Mile instills discipline, teamwork, and confidence,” said Jessica Ryals, ESJ Parent. “I’m looking forward to watching participants cross the finish line knowing they did everything they could to prepare!”

On Saturday, January 13 at 9 a.m., 1st Place Sports will host a training run starting on the St. Mark’s Campus for anyone interested in learning about and experiencing the course before the race. The only requirement is for participants to be able to run four miles within an hour.
