Winter Band Concert, Christmas Choral Concert, and The Nutcracker
The ESJ Fine Arts are honoring the Christmas season differently this year. We are excited to share that we will be offering three seasonal performances, each offering a unique way to celebrate the season. New this year is the Sounds of the Season: Winter Band Concert, being held in the Deming Theatre on November 30 at 7:00 PM. This concert features our ESJ instrumental ensembles performing seasonal music. In addition, our Jazz Band will be collaborating with members of the Dance Ensemble on a classic Duke Ellington tune.
Our annual Christmas Choral Concert: A Home Alone Christmas, will be held at St. John’s Cathedral on December 1 at 6:00 PM. It will feature music from the classic family movie Home Alone. Audiences will enjoy favorite holiday songs such as “Somewhere in my Memory,” “Star of Bethlehem,” and “O Holy Night.” There is no cost for this event and all are welcome.
Last, middle school theatre students are excited to present the legendary story of a young girl and her magical toy through a stage adaptation of THE NUTCRACKER. This lighthearted version of THE NUTCRACKER, adapted by June Walker Rogers, takes place in the Sikes Theatre on December 5 at 6:30 PM and December 6-8 at 6:00 PM.
