Unveiling A Vision for Art’s 2024 Featured Artist: EMYO

Episcopal School of Jacksonville, St. Mark’s Campus is proud to announce the selection of EMYO as the Featured Artist for the highly anticipated A Vision for Art fundraising event. Graciously presented by Northern Trust, this five-day art exhibit is scheduled for April 19 – 23, 2024.

Emily Ozier, known as EMYO, traces the roots of her expressive style and bold strokes back to her Cuban heritage. Emily draws inspiration from her grandfather, a physician who sought solace from the rigors of medicine through painting on miniature canvases. A graduate of Auburn University, Emily further honed her craft in Italy under the guidance of an esteemed impressionist master, immersing herself in techniques passed down from the celebrated painter, John Singer Sargent. Balancing her artistic pursuits with the joys of motherhood, EMYO crafts her vibrant creations from her studio in Tennessee.

In early 2024, Episcopal School of Jacksonville will welcome EMYO for a special pop-up event preceding A Vision for Art. During this visit, she will also extend her talents as a visiting author, sharing her enchanting children’s book, “Marisol’s Dress.”

Reflecting on this momentous occasion, Bebe Alexander, Art Instructor and Curator of A Vision for Art, shared, “With the selection of our Featured Artist, the stage is set for A Vision for Art to once again welcome a diverse array of talents. The call for artists will be open from November 1 to December 31, 2023. Last year saw an incredible response, with over 70 artists vying for a chance to showcase their work! If you know an artist whose talent deserves recognition, we wholeheartedly encourage them to apply at www.avisionforart.com/opencall.”
