9GOA Photos and Video – Freshman Orientation Adventure 2023
Campers, counselors and adults on the 31st Freshman Orientation Adventure enjoyed the sunshine and breezes in North Georgia during the first week of school. Just as in past years, students learned interesting facts about plants, animals, and the environment; they did things that seemed a bit dangerous and they tried things that they had never done before. Hiking on the Smithcreek Trail and rafting the Chattooga River provided opportunities for excitement and teamwork. Students came home with lots of great stories about whitewater rafting, singing on the bus, Ranger Bob, and new friends. Thousands of photos were taken on the trip, and the best photos can be viewed on the school’s SmugMug account in two galleries, Gold and Maroon. A video of the trip highlights will be available in the coming months. Until then a trailer is available here on the school’s Vimeo site. Finally, the students recently received photos of themselves exploring the outdoors with their new friends.
Thank you for sending your children on this challenging and rewarding adventure. The students have memories that will last a lifetime.
Best regards,
Megan Wickenden and Marion Zeiner
