Florida School Choice Scholarships
About Florida School Choice Scholarships
Florida Tax Credit Scholarship (FTC) and Family Empowerment Scholarship for Educational Options (FES-EO)
- Expands eligibility for all K-12 students, regardless of household income.
- Converts the scholarships into education savings accounts, or “ESAs” allowing families more flexibility in how they invest in their children’s education.
- For families who will use the scholarship for full-time private school tuition and fees, parents/guardians must agree to have their Scholarship Funding Organization, or “SFO,” commit scholarship funds on behalf of their students before using ESA funds for other authorized uses of program funds.
Family Empowerment Scholarship for Students with Unique Abilities (FES-UA)
- The Family Empowerment Scholarship for Students with Unique Abilities (FES-UA) gives families of Pre-K 3 – 12 students a choice of financial assistance toward private school tuition and fees, tutoring, and more. Children with one of 23 diagnoses including, but not limited to emotional, behavioral or intellectual disabilities are eligible to apply.
- The program cap has been increased, allowing more students to benefit from this scholarship.
Notice to parents enrolling students under the FES-UA scholarship: Please note that our school accommodates students with disabilities in accordance with federal and local law. However, your child may not receive the types of accommodations or related services that your child may be entitled to receive at a public school as public schools have different obligations under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). The IDEA does not apply to private schools. We are happy to have a conversation with you about the accommodations that your child may need and receive at our school.

Financial Aid Families – If you receive financial aid from ESJ, these scholarships will be considered part of your financial aid package and should be disclosed to us as soon as you are notified of an award. Take a screenshot of your child’s scholarship status and email it to [email protected] . Episcopal’s Financial Aid office will add your student to the ESJ roster within EMA. Then Step Up for Students will email you an Enrollment Notification with next steps.
