Spanish Exchange Mandatory Parent Meeting (March 16)

Parents in families participating in the Spanish Exchange Program,

On March 16, from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m., we will meet together in the Buck Student Center. We will go over important information prior to receiving your host students on March 29. Students will also be meeting with me separately on March 14 during Upper School activities. If you are unable to attend, please reach out to me at [email protected] so we can arrange a time to meet.

Here is the tentative agenda for the Parent Meeting:

  1. Welcome
  2. Review Flight Itinerary for Colegio Inglés group. 
    1. Arrival at 8 p.m. at JAX, Wednesday, March 29 – Plan to pick up around between 8-8:30 p.m.
    2. Departure from Episcopal at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 13 (they do not need a ride!)
  3. Student Life – ESJ Code of Conduct
  4. Overall Expectations for Host Students and Host Families
  5. Medical Issues / Emergencies
  6. Itinerary and Outings
    1. Welcome Party TBD?
    2. Full Day Excursion Thursday, April 6:  Host and Exchange Students 
    3. Goodbye Party Wednesday, April 12 evening (Dave and Busters): Hosts and Students:  We are hosting; see note below
  7. Prior Commitments – We will have a careful look at the itinerary and make note of any conflicts or events
  8. Background Check / Possible POSM Training (TBD)

Upcoming Dates

  • Checks for the Excursion and Goodbye Party due March 17, 2023
  • $110 payable to Episcopal School of Jacksonville
  • Before March 15, please have the Host Family checklist to me (if you do not already) I have to pass this information to Colegio Inglés
