Youth Choir Opportunity
Dear Beaches Campus Parents,
The Fine Arts Department and Mr. Cameron Strine are excited to share with you a music opportunity that exists with our local Episcopal church partner, St. Paul’s by-the-Sea Episcopal Church. The church music director, Lynne Radcliffe, who is a former music teacher at Episcopal, is beginning a youth choir that is free and open to the public. The youth choir is for students ages 5 and up, and it will meet on Wednesday afternoons from 4:15 p.m.-5:15 p.m.. Students can join as early as this coming Wednesday, October 5, 2022.
Ms. Lynne will bring student participants who remain on campus in Extended Day to the church for rehearsals at 4:14 p.m. each Wednesday. Parents may also bring their student to the church narthex at 4:15 p.m. Students will enjoy a brief snack before beginning choir practice. If you would like your child to participate in the youth choir, and he or she is not currently registered for Extended Day or an after-school activity, please contact Ms. Melody Harding at [email protected] to inquire about drop-in rates.
The youth choir provides performance opportunities at school chapels, Sunday church services and other venues. These performances will be encouraged but not required.
St. Paul’s by-the-Sea is a member of the Royal School of Church Music America, which features a structured choral music program designed to offer students a high quality music experience, and follows the tenets of RSCM in rehearsals and performances. Please email Lynne Radcliffe directly at [email protected] if you would like to register your child.
We look forward to seeing the talents of our young singers develop!
Sincerely,
Katie Black-Bowling
