College Counselors Visiting Schools
While the ESJ College Counselors’ primary focus each fall is assisting seniors during their college search and application process, they find the time to travel and attend professional development opportunities that improve the entire office. This work helps the school and especially our students.
Andrea Rizzi, Association, recently visited Clark University, College of the Holy Cross, and Worcester Polytechnic Institute, all near Boston. She learned wonderful information about all schools, and wants to recommend them to several of our juniors and seniors. Andrea will also serve on a panel discussion later in the month at the request of the Jacksonville office of Bank of America. She will provide local expertise for bank employees seeking information about the current college admissions landscape.
Julie Carter and Maria Carter are currently in Texas visiting colleges and attending the annual conference for NACAC, the National Association for College Admissions Counseling. The NACAC conference brings together college admissions representatives and high school college counselors for a three-day event of information sharing, educational lectures and panels, and networking. Breakout educational session topics at the NACAC conference include essay writing advice, NCAA athletic recruiting, selective university admissions, DEI initiatives, and more. Both college counselors will visit Rice, University of Texas, Baylor, and Texas A&M.
