Theatre Students Earn Superiors at State Festival
Twenty-two theatre students attended the Florida State Thespian Festival in Tampa from March 16-20 hosted by the Education Theatre Association. Episcopal students performed six pieces at this highly competitive event. Each of ESJ’s submissions received the highest rating of Superior. Anne Case ’22 was awarded with Top Honors for her costume construction of Peggy’s dress from the musical Hamilton. Gabby Parker ’22 was called back by every college represented in the audition room. “It was an incredible experience. I got to see the outstanding work of my peers from all of the state and attend workshops with professional performers. My friends and I will share these memories forever,” said Phoebe Fletcher ’22, Episcopal’s Thespians President.
“I love seeing the students experience State for the first time. They come back to school inspired and energized. I am incredibly proud of their representation of Episcopal. We continue to shine as a leading arts program in Florida!” said Taylor Lee Horne ’00, Upper School Theatre Director.
The six submissions were:
Victoria De Jorio-Koegler & Halle Taylor – Duet Acting Scene
Gabby Parker – Solo Musical
